For whom is this Water Industry Pre-Apprenticeship Training?

  • Workers from historically underrepresented and disadvantaged communities including:

  • Workers from Black communities

  • Workers in communities where there is a disproportionate burden of income and environmental inequality

A training initiative, pre-apprenticeship programs offered by the IEBWC prepare individuals for internships and entry into formal apprenticeship programs across various skilled trades and industries. These programs are designed to provide participants with foundational knowledge, essential skills, and hands-on experience needed for successful entry and completion of apprenticeship programs.

Comprehensive in nature, these programs include classroom instruction, technical training, exam preparation, labor history, OSHA-10 certification, emotional intelligence development, financial literacy training, interview and resume preparation, practical skill development, mentorship, and exposure to different trades through site visits.

The primary goal of the IEBWC's pre-apprenticeship programs is to expand access and opportunities for Black Workers in the Inland Empire region, equipping them with the requisite skills and credentials for sustainable and rewarding careers.
